Better off Adventures will only deliver activities that fall within the remit of their standard operating procedures and will ensure that appropriate Public Liability Insurance is held for these activities at all times.

 

Accidents can happen without any contributory negligence from the company or its staff. The company can accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or for personal injury not arising as a result of its own act or default.

 

I understand that skills taught through these sessions are to be exercised under the supervision of a suitably qualified instructor only. Better off Adventures takes no liability for any activities that occur outside the context of our supervised sessions.

Climbing / Abseiling:

Better off Adventures is an Associate Member of the BMC and fully endorses the BMC Participation Statement. All climbers must understand and accept the British Mountaineering Council participation statement:

“The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a DANGER OF PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement”

I recognise that climbing (including abseiling) and mountaineering are dangerous activities which are undertaken at the participants own risk.

Water based activities: 

 

I am aware that participating in water-based activities entails risks of injury or death. I understand the description of these risks in not complete and that unknown or unanticipated risks may result in injury, illness, or death because of participation in the activity.

Potential risks include changing water flow, currents, wave action and boat wakes, inclement weather, lightning, variances and extremes of wind, weather and temperature, collision or capsizing, or other hazard which results in wetness, injury, exposure to the elements, hypothermia, or drowning, collision with a land vehicle, encounters with wildlife, getting on or off the paddleboard, kayak, canoe, raft, or other equipment, equipment failure or operator error, heat- or sun-related injuries or illnesses including sunburn, sunstroke or dehydration.

I hereby knowingly and freely assume all such risks and accept all responsibility in the event of any injuries and accept that Better off Adventures and staff employed shall hold no liability in any case.
