Booking Terms and Conditions
1. FEES
1.1 All places must be reserved by us receiving a completed booking form and full payment.
1.2 The balance of the fee is payable 14 days prior to the commencement of the activity. If the balance is not paid, we will have the discretion to treat the booking as cancelled by the client and re-sell the course place.
2. CANCELLATION BY CLIENT
2.1 All cancellations must be in writing.
2.2 Cancellation requests made more than 14 days in advance of the activity are eligible for a full refund.
2.3 Cancellation requests with less than 14 days’ notice in advance of the activity are not eligible for a refund. However, we will endeavour to rearrange the activity to another time if this is at all possible or failing that retain the value of the booking on a gift card. This will be at the discretion of Better off Adventures.
2.4 No participants under the age of 18 are permitted to attend an activity unaccompanied. There must be a parent or legal guardian also participating, or present on-site for the duration of the activity. Failure to meet these conditions will be considered a cancellation by the client and no refund will be due.
3. CANCELLATION BY BETTER OFF ADVENTURES
3.1 Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that activities actually run, Better off Adventures will notify the client of cancellation as soon as possible, where it believes cancellation is necessary due to unsuitable conditions. Some sessions require a minimum number of participants to run, if this threshold is not met then Better off Adventures reserve the right to cancel these sessions. Better off Adventures also reserves the general right to cancel sessions for any reason we deem appropriate.
3.2 In the event of cancellation, clients will be offered the choice of the following options:
3.2.1 Rearrangement to alternative dates.
3.2.2 A full refund.
4. CANCELLATION DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS
4.1 In the event that it is not possible to run an activity due to local or national restrictions, Better off Adventures will endeavour to rearrange the activity to a future date.
4.2 Where possible, we will also apply this policy in the event that a participant is not able to attend an activity, for example, due to self-isolating.

4.3 If a client cancels for any reason with less than 14 days notice, our standard terms under Section 2 will apply.

5. SAFETY & PARTICIPATION STATEMENT
5.1 Adventurous activities are potentially hazardous with a danger of personal injury or death. By booking an activity you are aware of and accept these risks and will be responsible for your own and your groups' actions and involvement. An instructor who holds the relevant awards or qualifications will lead these activities and will maintain a high level of safety throughout the activities. To enable Better off Adventures to manage these risks you agree to acknowledge the need for responsible behaviour and that the instructors’ word is final on all matters of safety. You confirm that you are familiar with the nature of the activities that you wish to undertake and acknowledge those risks that are inherent therein and that you may freely withdraw from any activity and there is no pressure whatsoever to take part. This notice is formalized in an activity waiver that must be completed and signed by all participants before an activity takes place.
5.2 No participant will be allowed to take part in an activity unless an activity waiver has been read, understood and signed. This requirement is made clear at the time of booking and Better off Adventures will hold no liability in the event of participants being refused service in this instance.
6. INSURANCE & LOSS
6.1 Our courses are covered by industry-specific public liability insurance to the value of £5M.
6.2 Our courses do not include insurance for any personal accidents, injuries or course cancellations.
6.3 We recommend that you take out your own policy if concerned. We will accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal property.
